The Myth Busters

MYTH 1: "Carbon trading and replacing fossil fuels with renewable energy would mean loss of jobs and increased unemployment".
WRONG! Fossil fuel jobs are very efficient: they each produce a huge amount of (cheap, polluting) energy. To obtain the same amount of clean energy from renewable energies (wind, solar, water) we need more workers because we cannot be that efficient. So replacing fossil fuels with renewables actually increases the number of available jobs, does not decrease it. Workers would just need to be re-trained for the new clean industry, but this is simple. And it is fun.

MYTH 2: "Solar energy cannot replace fossil fuels because the sun is not shining all time"
WRONG! In most applications we can either store energy obtained from the sun, or store product processed during sunlight hours. This way we can assure continuity of product supply.

MYTH 3: "It is not enough solar energy in countries with temperate climate". While it is true that in some cloudy countries it is less overall energy due to some specific atmospheric conditions, for most low temperature applications there is enough solar energy to make it worthwhile. The solar devices without concentration of radiation may work with good efficiency even in cloudy sky conditions. However, solar devices with concentration of radiation (mirrors, lens) will be inefective without direct sunshine. So this myth is true for mirrors and lenses, but it is not true for solar systems without concentration of radiation.
